Welcome

Well well well...

I still want to puke. We signed up for this and not a day goes by that I don't love AND hate this idea. So why not start a little online tribute the next 9 months of our training times.... My hope is you ladies will post hilarious pictures, share stories, maybe do some microsoft paint art (catherine?) and laugh at all the crazy things we're about to do. It's supposed to be FUN right?! Haha, yep...fun. I will post a pic of my flabby bod soon and then i'll rely on your motivation ("hey fatty, why don't you get on a damn bike?" to get me in shape.

bis dann,
the frau

  2. Wooo hoooooo!!! Although I'm saddened I don't get to puke, experience leg cramps, side cramps, etc etc. during the Kentucky Ironman with all of you....I am excited we'll all be going through the re-chid training program together and we'll have THIS to vent, laugh and keep motivated.

But please do me ONE thing. I've talked to Catherine about this, and we've agreed (and hopefully you guys will too) that there will be no telling me how the ironman is (except good things, of course) until after I finish 2-3 weeks after you guys. That will be the hardest part! Knowing you all are done and I still have to experience the agony and pain :)

No, but really, I'm going to get some tips for training etc. from my dad (who's has done 4 of them) and Andrew, a friend of Robbie's (my bf) who is now Kimmy's bf (ha-confusing)...but he is a professional triathlete and is actually doing the Kentucky race as well (Boooo for me :)). We also have a guy in town that's a professional ironman and endurance trainer so I'll start picking his brain. One book he recommended for everyone is called "Going Long." I already have it, so I can find out the author etc. He also told me, that if you purchase one thing for the triathlon....get drop bars for your bike, if you don't already have them.

Hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving. I'm still recovering :)

  3. Sorry for some reason it said "Beth & Robbie said...." in my above post. I think that's because we had a blog from our summer road trip or something. I'll try to fix that :)
